I have a question regarding digital video camera. I know digital information is imported from camera to computer. Does it work the opposite way i.e can I download, upload, import videos from computer to camera?

  2. Hi Vivian,
I don’t think so. I have never tried it. The video file format on the Panasonic HD and Sony Handycam is the .MTS format. When you download a .MTS file from your video camera to you computer’s iMovie or other video edititing suite the imported .MTS file is loaded into the suite for editing but most video editing suites will not let you render the movie back to the .MTS video camera format. Most of the popular video editing software will only let you render or output to a .avi, .mov, .mp4, .mpeg, .wmv, .3gp, dvd, or blu-ray video format.
Is there a specific reason you need to move movies from your computer to your video camera?

Thank you Larry. I have a very old computer (in fact I’m surprised it is still useful. I am trying to make a video using images I can purchase for personal use from the web sites you and Debbie provided for me as well as my own footage. However my computer cannot burn it on to a DVD so I’m not sure what I can do with the video providing I can even make it. I suppose I can send it to a computer that can or send it digitally to a website. I will also need to do a voice over and I’m not sure how to do that either.
